Scholar conductors program

The Scholar Conductors program is for enthusiastic high school students who would like to try conducting in a supportive environment.   Instigated by Panula, the program is based on the view that discovering talent at a young age will provide a head start towards world-class excellence, by helping to support and develop students’ musical ability.

Our scholars program has led to participation in the Core Conductors program and past participants have gone on to study conducting at Juilliard and the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester.

Written applications are submitted each year from Australian schools and directed to Christopher Seaman.  A successful applicant is generally someone who can demonstrate a sense of leadership and would be currently members of their school orchestra, band or choir.

The Scholar Conductors program in 2012 will be held in Melbourne from Wednesday 5 September  – Saturday 8 September Please download an application form here – SCHOLARS Application Form
