Introducing the West Australian Social Distancing Orchestra

At WASO we are committed to sharing extraordinary music with the community. Always.

A bit of social distancing was never going to stop us from bringing the joy of music to audiences; last week we introduced WASDO — our West Australian Social Distancing Orchestra!

WASDO made their debut with a wonderful arrangement of Ravel’s Boléro. Although we can’t get together in person at the iconic Perth Concert Hall, over 50 of our musicians did an incredible job at capturing the spirit from home.

We are more determined than ever to fulfil our mission to touch souls and enrich lives through music during this difficult time and are busy creating exciting and engaging content for audiences far and wide.

As a not for profit, postponing our public performance programs will result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. This situation will impact the future of the company and our ability to let the music play on.

WASO relies on the financial support and generosity of the community to operate. We would like to thank the Federal and West Australian Governments for their continued backing at this difficult time and are extremely grateful to our fantastic corporate partners and philanthropic supporters for their generous support. Over the coming weeks we will be sharing more updates, videos and articles at https://www.waso.com.au/concerts-tickets/let-the-music-play-on/.
